Brag Along With BiV!

If you don't already have enough to do during the month of December, join NaBoMoReMo in reading the Book of Mormon. When President Hinckley challenged us to read the Book of Mormon two years ago, I took the challenge. I didn't really notice any special blessings regarding my testimony or the Spirit of the Lord in my home, but I did get the blessing of not feeling guilty when church leaders mentioned the challenge over the pulpit. I liked doing it, and I'm sure it was good for me. I also got bragging rights for having taken the challenge and finished the Book in the time allotted. So I've decided to do it again with NaBoMoReMo. They've got a nifty little site up with a reading schedule and a place to blog about it and get motivated. I'll be bragging, I mean blogging about my experiences here. Join the group, and let me know how you're doing, too!

I sometimes wonder if GBH asked every member to wear different colored socks for 17 minutes every night for a month, that members would be bearing testimony on how much that blessed their lives as well?

I meant WERE the Spirit to witness . . . . I should not comment at 4:30 a.m.

Although it would be a different matter where the Spirit to strongly witness against it, following the Lord's anointed representatives always brings blessings, even if what they ask seems silly. There is a blessing simply in being willing to obey.

what if he's not inspired in the matter?

this sounds silly and far-fetched, but what if GBH came to your home and asked to eat your brain?

By the way, I love, love, love the picture of the man reading the BOM. What a lovely thought of our world wide gospel. Although at times I despair with the PEOPLE in the church, the gospel doesn't disappoint.
