Um, thanks, BiV, that was...enlightening. Cozying up to ex-mos has always helped me feel the Spirit too. A few more picture of Kaimi next time please. And would your husband also agree with the "Matt Thurston was the hottest guy at Sunstone" thing? Even hotter than John Remy? I guess since John wasn't wearing a kilt he lost out? Maybe it is just me, but John looked better than Matt, or maybe it was just that John's pic was the only one in focus.
Thanks, BiV, you have convinced me that Sunstone is in fact a good thing and Elders Oaks and Ballard are wrong. I am already booking my tickets and hotel for next year.
BinV, I LOVE it! It's always such a pleasure to see faces to go with familiar names. (I think I spotted my sister Lynnette in one of them.)
I haven't been to Sunstone in almost 15 years, I think (now I live too far away and never seem to make it back to UT at that time of year) but the hotel looks exactly the same as it did last time I attended.
Thanks for the great slide show, BiV. How many pictures total did you end up taking at Sunstone? I think I personally witnessed you snapping at least three or four hundred. And that was at one session. :)
i cannot tell you all how embarrassing it is that out of all those pics this is the best selection!!
In my own defense, I was trying to use a setting without a flash so I wouldn't disturb any of the speakers or participants. then for many of the pics I was far far away in the back of the room and using zoom.
Thanks BiV, I'm flattered. But Snarky has a point, anyone can look okay when they are out of focus.
One clarification, there is a picture of two people sitting on the floor and the caption says "Matt Thurston and MCQ," but alas, that is not me.
Loved all of the rest of the captions though. And I completely agree about the two annoying commenters. But all of those pictures make me nostalgic for SSS, and it hasn't even been 24 hours.
In the photo you have captioned Ann Porter, Paula and ???, ??? is Jett, whose real name I have forgotten. She's been doing a lot of cartoons for Sunstone lately, including the FMH one.
Nice shots, especially those good lookin' brownies ;-) It's fun to put the names with faces. Thanks for taking and posting them. I don't know what camera you used; but, if it has an ISO setting, for indoor shots like that you want to set it up a bit higher, up to 1600 if it goes that high. Or, if it has an auto ISO setting that would even be better. But, you shot several good ones.
snark: Yeah, like what you do helps anyone feel the spirit--you moronic hypocrite!
A few years ago I kept thinking it would be fun to go to the exmo conference, but lately (this year and last) it has looked like the Sunstone Symposium would be a lot more fun!!! It's all moot though since I doubt I'd be able to justify the expense (in time as well as money) of making such a trip, as fun as it would be...
One funny thing is that you got some pictures of my brother. I had no idea he was even at the conference! (Though it's not terribly surprising...) He's the guy in the middle in your "singing with gusto" picture, and he's also in your "listening carefully" picture. Did you meet him by chance? I'm guessing not, since you didn't mention his name in your captions...
Chanson, is he the one from the John Whitmer Historical Association? If so, I met him and was very impressed. There were so many people I would love to have talked to more.

lol, Snarky--no career in photography for me! And I think my husband actually voted for Ty Mansfield as hottest guy.

Yes, Eve, Lynnette was hanging out with the bloggers and we all love her. We even talked about you! (Did your ears burn?)

Anyway, it was great meeting you in person.

But basically, yes, I suck as a photographer.

I love BIV, and I agree. Matt is hot. :)
Those goodies in #75 sure look delicious, BiV. A guy could start wondering just how tasty they are.
But really, I need to stick to healthier fare. Fruit, for instance. :P

anon, that pic is a companion piece to the breasts and green jello one I took at the FMH bloggersnacker. I'm thinking of starting a collection.
BiV,
holy cow, It's a good thing nobody knows me.
mfranti--
:)
BiV, great pics, and cool slide show! It was fun to meet you.
I want to go back!! Boo hoo, so many fun people and beautiful breasts.

The slide show with captions is a must-have for future picture displays.
It was fun to see what/who was familiar and make new name&face associations.
Wow, great pics!!!

Yeah, that's him!!! That's so cool that you met him!!! I've really got to go to this thing one of these years... ;^)
