FLDS Petition--Something I Can Do

Since reading of the most recent developments in Texas, I have been wishing there was something I could do! Thank you, Connor, for putting together this petition where we can sign our names against the violations which are now taking place in separating these small children from their mothers. It's just one little thing I can do to possibly make a difference. None of us wants to see child abuse, but the way the Texas authorities are handling this is wrong. The men at the ranch have offered to leave if the children and mothers are allowed to return home. If you feel you can support this effort, please go to

Free the Innocent FLDS sponsored by Connor Boyack.

Biv Biv Biv... As usual, I find your posts about the FLDS ordeal bittersweet. Like you I can sympathize with a lot of it (being LDS). I too find their zeal admirable and was likewise touched when men prayed and cried as their temple was desecrated by gentiles. I can't imagine what I would be thinking and feeling. And you read my mind about the temple beds could they be used for sex? possibly, but says who?? I'm with you on that point. I think we disagree when it comes to your petition about "the violations which are now taking place in separating these small children from their mothers." I actually blogged about this on my site tonight: The dilemma is that on one had women are saying "Ok, even if some other families are having sex with children (16-17 yr old girls with middle age men IS rape and child abuse in America), my family is not! Therefore, I should have my kids back. While that's a good point, and throws a kink in the States gears of justice, if their religion believes it's ok to marry underage girls, those children are indeed in distinct danger of future abuse and that is grounds for removal from the home. Solution? … let's find out if the State can make it's case that this is in the best interest of the children. Burden's on them.

Thanks for your posts about this. I signed the petition earlier because it seems to be the only thing I can do. It doesn't alleviate my sense of outrage, anger and heartbreak though. It makes me wish I were back in Texas so I could protest or volunteer or do something.
